This week The Witch Hikers were mainly wandering in Edinburgh and the Magical Kingdom of Fife. It's been a busy couple of weeks for The Witch Hikers. We've been out on the road for most of the last two weeks trying to secure as much content and information in the first issue of The Witch Hiker's Guide as possible. We've been lost a few times, but along the way we've met some interesting people with a huge range of stories and experiences... This week The Witch Hikers were mainly wandering in Edinburgh and the Magical Kingdom of Fife.
We spent a lovely day in the sunshine exploring parts of Edinburgh and found the staff in the One World shop to be very friendly and encouraging of our venture. So pleased were we with their support that we splashed out and bought a knitted red & black woolen Nepalese hat for baby Witch Hiker who looked suitably impressed. We poked our noses into the Cornerstone cafe (veggie) but didn't partake of any food so will keep you posted on future visits & experiences. Continuing our meandering adventure we wound our way up to the University in search of a family friendly eaterie and happened upon The Forest Cafe (Vegetarian & vegan) which looked like it was full of very interesting characters (one of them sitting in an old beat up velvet armchair on the window ledge) and had a bit of a buzz about it with a mix of students and alternative and wannabe altenbative types all happily mingling (well we say happily, we sensed from their auric field they were happy but the majority of the clientel were projecting an air of emotional burden which suited the tone nicely). Fearing baby Witch Hiker may bring too much hilarity and projectile fruit pieces to the premises we ventured further on & found a very nice cafe called Glenhas which was excellent & quirkily every dish came with tzadziki, which was nice if anything. We shall go back to The Forest another day and tell you all about it (or why don't you tell us...?). We ended up popping in to see The WitchCraft Shop and again had a lovely chat and look around this tiny wee gem. We recommend it. We had to cut our wanderings short after that but will be back to auld reekie soon...
