New Year’s Resolutions PDF Print E-mail
We recently asked some faces well-known to those of you who read the magazine, or head along to Body &
Soul Fairs for some thoughts on New Year’s Resolutions. First up, Lyn and Laura Lunicorn share with us their thoughts on Hogmanay.

New Year’s Resolutions, positive affirmations, creative visualisation or whatever you choose to call them, are at the very core of how Lunicorn began.
For years before Lunicorn was officially born, each Hogmanay, when the bell strikes twelve, and we said hello to the New Year, we performed our own wee ritual which is the essence of our ‘believe box’ and which to this day, we still do every year. We light candles, burn sage and enter into a light meditation holding a piece of rose quartz tightly in our hands. In the meditation, we set our intentions for the year ahead and see ourselves doing what we wish, our friends and family being healthy, and with good thoughts for the wider world, we set about writing our affirmations on ‘believe strips’. We discuss these with each other,
although it’s perfectly fine to keep them private, and we place them in our ‘believe box’ and ask the light of the unicorns to shine upon them and guide them forward.
Looking back over the years, most of them have come into being. And whilst New Year is a great platform to do this, it’s an exercise that can be done all year round. Simply believing you can achieve anything you want in life, by really believing it’s possible is the easiest and the hardest way of thinking, but with a little practice, it’s mind-blowing when you see it working.
Happy New Year and may all our dreams come to pass in 2010.
