We’re on our way to San Francisco International airport. It’s 5.30AM on a Saturday morning in early July. It’s still dark and traffic is basically non-existent at this hour, save for some truckers heading to the bay area to drop off their cargo. This stretch of our journey is like one straight line through the flattest part of California being Dutch and quite used to these kinds of horizontal
views the valley bores me. My being thrives in the mountains, or at the ocean, preferably both at the same time.

I remember a time when life was simple. I remember a time when I was free to express myself however I chose, free to walk in the woods at midnight under the light of a full moon, free to wander down to the sea to release my stress and worries to be washed away by the tide. I remember hours of meditation, chanting, channelling. I remember rituals invoking the Goddess, the angels, sabbats celebrating the turning of the year. I remember it all...is this some kind of weird past life flashback? No! This is simply life before Motherhood.
