Hello all,
We hope this fine weather has you feeling chipper. We have noticed a trend in the weather (pointed out by the lovely Sheelagh Keddie who must read every last bit of the magazine she is so eagle eyed!). If you look back to issue 4 in the editorial on page 3 you will notice us wishing for snow over the winter period and what happened?? We got snow! Then if you turn to page 3 of the current issue we ask for the sun to shine for the spring - what happened?? Yes we had a mini heat wave! Wow, bet you didn't know the WHG had those sorts of powers and I bet you'll be reading the editorial section in issue 6 now...

We took advantage of the "heat wave" earlier this month and and went off on a much needed break up to Wester Ross and sampled the local seafood, beer and cheeses, mmmm... Pure white sands, empty beaches, hot sunshine and baby witchhiker in his wetsuit. Bliss. Look out for some reviews of the places of interest, eateries and folks we met on our travels on the whg website.

Speaking of the website we have relaunched the forum (yay- we hear you say!) so if you have a question, a comment, a rant or even a joke get on there and start posting our regular forum folk are after new blood ;-)

If you have had a flick through the current issue of the WHG then you will probably have noticed the annoucement of the WHG awards. We too were a little disappointed by the cancelling of a certain Scottish awards ceremony so decided to launch our own. More details on closing date, award ceremony etc will be given as soon as we have finalised them. You will be the first to know. If you are feeling a bit tight and don't want to splash out on an envelope and stamp (or if you would prefer not to hack a hole in to your beautiful copy of WHG5) then fear not, help is at hand. You can now vote online too via our handy online voting form. What are you waiting for?!

We also have some exciting news about a new soon to be regular feature in the form of a direct line (well via us of course) to Barbara Meiklejohn-Free! Barbara will be able to answer your questions about life, the universe & everything (this life, that life, past life etc) have a peep at her websight www.spiritvisions.co.uk and start sending your questions in.
